Being open to unseen energies, psychic or intuitive, sometimes means visits from spirit even when they are not invited. It reminds me of an old TV ad, where nosey neighbours walk through the front door saying, “saw the light on, thought we’d pop in!.”

Unwelcome guests are not permitted, human or spirit!

I had a wonderfully intuitive client on the Psychic Connection Package. She was very open, and already had great energy boundaries, but no matter how many times she and  her family announced that no spirits were allowed in the bedroom and bathroom, they still kept turning up – playing with the light switch, making footstep sounds generally making their presence felt.

They even stuck post it notes up for everyone to see. And it kind of worked, only now the spirits hung out on the landing outside the bedroom!

“What’s going on?” She said.” I did everything right.” And she did. Spirit did listen and they stayed out of HER world, but much to her surprise she was accidentally wandering into theirs.

She was astral traveling.

She forgot to close down at the end of the day, so her porch light was still on. Being the spiritual person she was, and  dedicated to her job, it’s easy to forget. Especially with a busy day. So of course, with her energies still open and shining, it’s natural for spirit to draw close.

Since we are all light, and those of us on the spiritual path do shine bright, it’s very attractive for those from the spirit plane. Especially the astral – one of the planes closest to our world. Being so close and permeable, it’s very easy for someone who is still “on” to slip there, especially while sleeping when our spirits are mobile and freer to wander about.

It is normal for spirits to be attracted by your light, like a moth to a flame.

When that happens, know that your spirit is open and bright and has attracted them. It’s nothing to fear. It’s nothing that you’re doing wrong. You just forgot to turn the porch light off.

Could you be

Your light is beautiful. Your light is attractive. You simply forgot to turn it off as you went to sleep.

If spirit visits persist even after good house rules are set, take it as an opportunity to  check in. Visualise the light switching off and affirm to the world,  “My light is off. I am sleeping. I am off duty.”

When we sleep, our spirit has a little vacay. It takes a holiday. It goes wandering off and does whatever spirit things it needs. It’s mobile. It’s moving, and it can journey to those other spiritual planes, like the astral.

They say that there are 7 planes. Ancient texts that mention the 7 heavens or the 7 spheres. There’s lots of evidence in old scriptures that talk about 7 levels. Of course, the astral level is the very first one. It’s the most dense, being closest to our world, the earth plane that we live in. It’s a lot more like earth, and people that pass over that aren’t quite ready to transition to the higher planes, they’re more comfortable in the astral. It feels more like earth. It feels normal and they’re comfortable there. Many people reside in the astral for a while until they decide they’re ready to move forward. It’s like the first stop for many who need time to adjust to being in a new lighter body.

It’s very easy for us to slip into that, especially if we are asleep, because we’re already in an altered state. We’re already receptive to other energies, so it’s quite natural to travel there rather than they travel to us.

Next time unwelcome spirit guests come to the house, consider  you might have gone to their plane, rather then them travelling to yours. Especially when seeing them in the middle of the night or hearing footsteps. If your porch light is indeed off, perhaps you’ve just popped into their work and it’s a surprise to wake up and not release. You’ve simply gone on a little spirit vacay.

Developing good spirit boundaries is something all intuitives need – especially if you’re already open to sensing their presence. There’s plenty of tips and tools to grab in my power packed 30 minute session, Hey! You must be psychic.
