No matter how spiritual and loving we are, one thing is for sure: Our energy is our responsibility. We get to be the boss.
It’s an awesome thing getting to choose where it goes, who to give it to, and who to retrieve it from.
It seems the more we claim responsibility for what’s ours, the easier it is see what belongs and what doesn’t. A strong sense of self is the backbone of all psychic work and keeps us from losing it in this big energy soup of a world.
Boundaries for spiritual people
Your energy is your responsibility. Soaking up everybody else’s? That’s just plain exhausting.
Not to mention overwhelming.
So how do we NOT soak up everyone else’s stuff?
Part of it comes with a decision.
A decision to be in charge and to reclaim your energy.
You are in charge
You have an energy field that can expand and contract at will. You decide what comes in and what stays out.
Being responsible for your energy means no one makes you feel anything anymore.
That’s like saying they MADE you do or say something that you had no control over.
That’s just not true.
As we grow on our inner spiritual journey, it’s annoying to realize that no one makes us feel or do anything, and that we choose our responses.
It’s that old choice of being reactive or proactive.
Not that I have this nailed. I still roll my eyes at speeding hoon cars in my street and mutter over dog poop left unscooped, but we still get to choose how we react,
You’re a beautiful soul with a beautiful energy and the only one who decides what to feel is YOU.
The second part is discovering what energy belongs and what doesn’t. That might be a work in progress. Take it slow, use baby steps and congratulate yourself often.
Sometimes we only know a boundary is crossed after it happens. This is a valid part of the discovery process.
And if the current world has you feeling scattered and fragile with an energy field that feels more like a sieve than an aura, I’ve just updated the Restore and Recharge audio in the Psychic Classroom, it might help.
