Trust your vibes, because your gut knows
Believe it or not, you’re also a bit psychic – and that gut feeling is the one to go with. That flavour of the month reader with 2 zillion likes on her facebook page? She might not be the one if your gut pulls you to a little-known reader you met in a Facebook group with kind eyes instead.
Follow up on your gut instincts by stalking them a little – see if you have mutual friends or you like what they post on their Facebook page. Imagine if they were a Trump supporter and you had different views about the US, crazy haired, woman groping President. Would that change your choice?
Think about what you’d like from your reading
Usually, a psychic will already have tuned in and tell YOU what you came for. In case you want to add anything, here are some common areas I read on regularly:
- Insight into a situation at work that’s still bothering you.
- Help with a decision
Discover what you need to know about a current relationship
- Know the future potentials for the next year or six months
Or you may want to hear from a loved one in the spirit world – in that case, you’ll need to choose a medium. (There’s a difference) or you may not have any prearranged ideas or topics, but just relax in your seat and enjoy the ride. Either way is OK.
During your first psychic reading, stay open.
Do you really want to waste money testing them, or making them ‘prove’it? A psychic reading is a team sport, and the more open you can be the better. This also means letting them work with the minimum of info from you. After all, they are psychic, so they will already be able to tune into info about your life that will prove anything you need.
And if they skeptic side of you is still lurking, keep your answers to a brief yes or no. No one likes to be fed the answers or be accused of ‘feeding the medium”. Keeping the answers to yes and no helps the psychic connect with what’s most important for you. The spirit world draws close in psychic readings so you may experience, shivers, goosebumps, temperature changes – this is a wonderful sign of things going right!
Bail if it’s not working
There’s a great custom in the UK – the client can cancel the session in the first ten minutes and receive a full refund. That means if the readings is going well, or it doesn’t feel like a good fit, you can call it quits with no hard feelings.
Your first psychic reading should be an exciting and enlightening event, filled with “OMG'” and head nods. And if that isn’t happening at the start, you do have a right to end the session.
Psychic reading isn’t an exact science, and any number of things can go wrong. It’s OK. Think of the right to cancel as your warranty. You can return the reading for a refund at any stage, however, it’s wise to check the refund policies of the reader before booking. A good psychic will always refund your money.
Give the reading time to settle
Sometimes in the dazzle of a reading, information can be cloudy or cryptic. Later, in the spirit of 20/20 hindsight, all becomes clear and it makes way for even more epiphanies and “aha” moments. Give a reading time to settle, and let it filter through.
Readings can be like a puzzle, where the dots are joined later. At it’s best it will leave you feeling empowered and clear with a positive vision about your way forward.
You’re not alone
Best of all your first psychic reading will be a fun adventure feeling safe in the hands of a qualified professional. Expect to have lots of head nods and yes answers and to feel that something special took place after. Your guides and helpers will also be present, so you’re not alone and you’ll k]have the satisfaction of knowing you followed your gut by choosing the right psychic reader. Ready to book your first psychic reading? I’d love to connect with you.
