What is a Soul, Anyway?
If a five year old asked what a soul was, what would you say? Would you say it’s the truest, deepest part of us that’s inside and outside us at the same time?
One thing’s for sure, we all have a soul
Imagine you’re an iceberg.
The soul is consciousness
Our soul is a little piece of God.

What is a Soul, anyway?
Over the last nine years studying evidential mediumship, I’ve practiced the art of sitting in stillness to meet my soul. Sitting quietly, as if in communion, is a time to acknowledge thoughts, emotions, and whatever comes and goes like clouds drifting across the sky. This practice is an essential part of training and it’s called variously, ‘sitting in the power’, or ‘sitting for spirit’.
It’s getting to know my own soul and connecting to the essence of ‘me’, and then, through that, the essence of all.
But sitting still isn’t easy
Which is why so many give up, discouraged by the inner work needed. Inner work is one thing no one can run from. It catches up with us one way or another.
Soul expansion is an integral aspect of training for the psychic and mediumship arts, and there’s no shortcut.
The spirit within must be found, cherished, and healed in order for the greater soul work to happen. We must meet all parts of ourselves the good and not-so-good, and find self love and acceptance.
Perhaps reading this, you’re inspired to have another go at that psychic course that’s gathering space dust on the desktop.
Or pull out a meditation to sit with, or even journal a bit on what comes up around taking the next spiritual step.
Whatever it is, know that this is also part of soul expansion and another tiny step along the path of soul connection.
P.S. If you want to know what Sitting in the Power is, there’s a You Tube Playlist that outlines it really well here.
And an audio to get started with Sitting in the Power called My Shiny Light here.

Hey!
Semi fictional story about me
In 1994, I had a midlife crisis, got a boob job and moved to Byron Bay.
Quickly realized there was nothing there but more boob jobs and white furniture, so I escaped faux-spiritual beach culture, went to Peru, and experimented with DMT.
While in Peru, fell in love with a Shaman who was really a plumber from Padstow, but stayed because of attachment issues.
After following a puma from the jungle, I holed up in a Scandi-style Air B’n’B and finally got enlightened.
Parts of this story are true.
