ten tips for better psychic messages

10 tips for better psychic messages

1. Meditate.

Meditation is number one because it’s the key to better psychic messages. Even bad meditators can find pockets in the day to look away from the screen. I get my best insights walking the dog. Close the laptop – put the phone down and gaze out the window.

What do you see? How do sounds land with you? Is there a feeling in the room to tune into? This is the first step to raising awareness of an internal world where the unseen can connect with you.

Action step: Find pockets of the day to reflect. A regular daily chore is perfect. Folding laundry or unstacking a dishwasher gives the the mind something to do so the higher mind can get better psychic messages.

2. Go with your gut

We think intuition lives in the third eye, but it’s the solar plexus – where the fire of our spirit burns. It’s not called gut instinct for nothing. Feelings are the language of the soul, and they bypass the ego. The goal is to touch the soul parts of ourselves, so insights flow. Take care of your beautiful body – we only get one. Our body is like a giant receiver of all psychic information.

Action step: What gut instincts do you act on? Take note of what your gut says next time there’s a decision to be made.

3. Discover what makes you feel relaxed open and receptive

There are so many ways to Spirit, from chanting, yoga, and meditation, to whirling dervish dancing. They all heighten awareness, shifting us into a beautiful altered state of perception where we can truly receive answers. Do what feels healthy for you. Do what you can right now. Because when we feel relaxed and open the door to intuition flies open.

Action step: What part of your lifestyle could do with a relaxation upgrade?

4. Work with your guides

Even if you don’t know who they are or if they are. You don’t need to know their names or what superior existence they’re from. They’re just a thought away and all you need to do is ask. Working with Spirit guides is a team sport and you can get to know them better with free resource I created called: The Guide to Spirit Guides.

Action step:  Ask a question and be open to the answer, even if it feels like its your own thought-voice answering. That’s the most common way they communicate.

5. Trust

Trust builds a powerful vibration that draws in more trust. It’s like a muscle, it needs to be used to get bigger and the best time to start is now. This is the law of attraction at work; you get what you focus on. When we learned to walk, we got up more times than we fell. Learning anything means we get up and try again, building resilience along the way.

Action step: Intuition is the thing that arrives before thought. Knowing this, go through the next few days noticing the images and feelings that pop up instantly about whatever you’re thinking. If you’re relaxed and open, trust them. It will be a psychic message.

6. Don’t worry about chakras

Chakras aren’t needed for better psychic messages.  Like the aura, chakras are an essential part of your invisible anatomy. Do they need to be fiddled with? Not really. Chakras are self-regulating and don’t need to be ‘opened’ (they’re already open.)

Action Step:  Instead of worrying about chakras and if your third eye is open, try this: Next time you feel a message or want to use your intuition to get more information about something, check into your belly. It’s not called ‘gut instinct’ for nothing.

7. Practice reading the vibes

Practice tuning into the vibes of people, places and objects. This is called ‘psychometry. It’s the ability to read energy from someone or something, like a fingerprint of energy left behind.

This comes in handy with photos on Facebook, holding someone’s keys and feeling into where they’ve been and also great for visiting popular tourist destinations with big history attached to them. Places like Alcatraz and old battlefields and you will experience psychometry.

Action step: Next time you walk into a room thick with ‘vibes’, tune in and see if you can get more of the story. Ask to hold something that belongs to someone else and allow the object’s ‘energy print’ to tell you more.

8. Relax!

Easier said than done, but I have a joke with students when they get anxious before an exercise: Pretend you’ve had three glasses of wine. Notice I said pretend. The idea is to let go enough to borrow the courage a few wines give.

Action Step: No – it’s not having three glasses of wine, but finding the courage and relax enough to say it out loud, going with the hunch, image, vision or phrase. You will surprise yourself.

9. Keep a development journal

Keep a log of all the hits, the hints, the nudges and the misses in a journal devoted just to that. We know anything tracked improves, whether it’s a savings account or the number of steps on a Fitbit. Psychic hits may seem like coincidences, but the pattern is clear when tracked in a development journal. They can’t all be coincidences, can they?

Action Step: Keep a development journal for days when you feel less confident.  Relive the hits and great messages because they were recorded.

Hey!

Semi fictional story about me

In 1994, I had a midlife crisis, got a boob job and moved to Byron Bay.

Quickly realized there was nothing there but more boob jobs and white furniture, so I escaped faux-spiritual beach culture, went to Peru, and experimented with DMT.

While in Peru, fell in love with a Shaman who was really a plumber from Padstow, but stayed because of attachment issues.

After following a puma from the jungle, I holed up in a Scandi-style Air B’n’B and finally got enlightened.

Parts of this story are true.
