What really happens in a psychic reading
What happens in a psychic reading? Where does the psychic get their information from and how does it work? It isn’t from the angels, aliens or Ascended Masters, but it is much closer to home and 100% more accountable.
Spirit doesn’t tell us what to do or give guidance in a reading. Even if some appear as if spirit whispers in their ear, it doesn’t work like that.
Some claim to be connected to a spiritual hierarchy like angels, Masters, and space buddies. While I’m sure they exist, and have a role in the spiritual planes beyond our world, they probably aren’t on call for a quick reading about your love life.
This is where the accountability and the transparency come in. We are an unregulated business. That’s means anyone can do a reading. It’s open to all, which means the customer needs to be discerning.
Choosing a psychic is a personal thing, like finding a hairdresser or therapist. Here’s three aspects of a psychic to look for to help you choose:
The psychic is accountable
A good psychic knows their scope of practice They are accountable in the way they work and will be transparent about it. They know the areas they can read on, and won’t advise on medical issues.
If they claim to be in touch with a higher level being, make them prove it. Get them to pop Grandma on and give some details about her to prove it’s really her.
To be fully accountable, I can’t claim my spirit team is telling me something, because I’m not 100% clairaudient and I need to be honest in the way I work. Watch out if a psychic says, “They’re telling me.”
Who is ‘they’? Because they will be required to identify themselves with concrete information about yours or your loved one in spirit to prove it.
The psychic process is clear
I had a reading with a lovely person who opened with: “What does spirit tell me?” I had to break it gently: Psychics work with the living soul of the person in front of them. There are no other spirits involved. That does not diminish the power of the reading, but it’s good to be clear about the process.
When what really happens in a psychic reading was explained, the client was relieved.
She said, “Thank goodness. I always thought those readings were a bit hokey never rang true, now I’m interested in understanding the process.”
A psychic reading, is simply one soul blending with another. My soul’s trained to blend with yours soul, and get out of my own way, but that’s it.
Strengths and soul qualities are highlighted
In a psychic reading, expect to hear about past successes, and challenges now overcome. Soul lessons learned, your experiences that bring you to this point.
and remind you of the strengths and your abilities and your soul qualities so that you can make the decision for your future, not anybody else.
This new level of integrity helps us be more accountable and transparent in a reading.
We call this way of working evidential – the big umbrella term, but it means a psychic must do what it says on the box.
A psychic reading is about you and your life and requires no spirit connection.
The psychic is always learning
It’s humbling to think we’re never reach mastery. Like life, there’s always something to learn. If you are already reading for the public as a psychic, I hope you feel confirmed and validated and perhaps a little curious about other aspects.
Perhaps you might explore what your scope of practice might be. Define how YOU work more clearly for clients or even explore what evidential psychic and mediumship is.
If you’re someone looking to know what happens in a psychic reading, I hope this clears up alot for you and you find a psychic to work with that feels right.
And of course, if you want to book, I’d love to read for you.

Hey!
Semi fictional story about me
In 1994, I had a midlife crisis, got a boob job and moved to Byron Bay.
Quickly realized there was nothing there but more boob jobs and white furniture, so I escaped faux-spiritual beach culture, went to Peru, and experimented with DMT.
While in Peru, fell in love with a Shaman who was really a plumber from Padstow, but stayed because of attachment issues.
After following a puma from the jungle, I holed up in a Scandi-style Air B’n’B and finally got enlightened.
Parts of this story are true.
